The Army Corps of Engineers spent two weeks on island surveying and dredging the channel, which is gradually filled in as sand periodically washes over from the Vineyard Sound barrier beach, especially during high tide, high wind storms. The Cuttyhunk Ferry, Packer Fuel, and Trash barges (as well as summer boaters) will have easier access to the harbor in 2024.

The Cuttyhunk Marina is empty most days of the year; moorings are allocated on a first come first served basis, and slips may be booked in advance on the town's dockwa website. The Harbor Raw Bar opens in May for our 43rd year of brining you the best, freshest oysters in Buzzards Bay!
